HDMI & DVI cables are basically a latest generation digital scart. HDMI has the capacity to run crystal clear high-definition pure digital picture and sound. DVI is as above but without sound. These cables are important because not only do they carry signal but they allow "digital hand-shake" between high defininition products and ensure compatibility between source and display. Dodgy cables means "no picture". Care must also be taken when running long runs, especially when you are looking at a resolution of 1080P. |
