- Cyrus have dropped the price of their Streamline all in one Streamer/amplifier to £1199. This box added to a pair of loudspeakers equals a superb streaming audio system. Now at an even better price.
- Arcam have dropped the price of their Solo Neo to £999. This unit offers streaming audio (wired and wireless) as well as CD and radio. Unparalleled value for money.
- Also new from Rega is the RP6 turntable.
- Rega's new Apollo R CD player has arrived and is now on demo. It sounds like a turntable and I mean that as an immense compliment!
- Naim Audio have just delivered the new SuperUniti to us. RRP is £3250. This is a blend of their Supernait and a Uniti streamer, as the title suggests. It is the first Naim streamer to be able to play files up to 24/192. It is 80 watts per channel and sounds superb! Come and have a listen.
- Joining it soon will be the ND5 XS, a slimline streamer to match the XS range. Retailing at £1920 this product also handes the highest def audio files. It can also be upgraded by the addition of a new power supply which is being launched shortly.

- These are the first images of the new Audiolab M-Dac. We saw and heard this yesterday and at £599 it is going to sell remarkably well. Not only has this DAC got all the inputs required (inc optical, USB and coaxial) but it has both line and balanced outputs, a headphone output and a variable output. Put simply this is a pre-amp as well!
In fact Audiolab are producing some superb equipment at the moment and we are pretty bowled over with the way this range is developing! We expect stock in October.

- The Audiolab mono power amps deserve special mention. At the moment we simply can't keep them in the shop. The build, performance and sound quality are near legendary for the price (£1950 for the pair). Partnered with a streamer with a variable output (Cyrus StreamXP or Musical Fidelity CliC) or the Audiolab CD8200Q CD player and dac - you really do have affordable high end!

- The new Monitor Audio GX Gold series is now on demo. The range features an exciting ribbon tweeter from the Platinum series. The sub-£1000 compact already sounds superb.
- Naim have merged financially with Focal the French company that makes JM Labs loudpspeakers.
- Cyrus STREAMER promotion is now on. Purchase any of the Cyrus streamers and get a free 1 terrabyte Western Digital Network drive and an ethernet switch. These make starting your own Streaming Library both easier and cheaper.
- The new Audiolab mono power amps are sounding very good indeed. They've tightened up in terms of bass delivery and the treble is detailed without being harsh. Extremely good so far.
- We have added a couple of spectacular deals on Quad. The CDP2 and the 909 power amp make for a superb audio system. The CD player also has digital inputs and a pre-amp built in. These two components pretty much represent unbeatable stereo performance and at £1198 this should be seriously considered. Pretty much half price on two well respected products.
- Above is a PAB Isolation platform. This devise works wonders on turntables, CD players and pre-amps. It offers a system of adjustable suspension that can isolate the component placed on it- effectively allowing it to float. Sound is improved considerably. More info can be found in the the New products section. We also have a unit in store and our local customers can of course loan this and experiment with it at home. Cost is £479 in oak or cherry.
- The Musical Fidelity M-1 CLIC has arrived. Early impressions are that it is a warmer, more analogue sound. It is also a very flexible pre-amp with inbuilt DAC. So not only can you connect analogue sources but you can add digital sources including ipod, optical and co-axial as well as USB. This network product is wired AND wireless. Internet radio is of course provided as is easy to use remote control. It immediately recognises the network when wired and just needs the router key if wireless. Simples!
- The new Rega RP3 above has a substantially upgraded performance. It features a new tonearm which has increased regidity and is a one piece casting from cartridge mount to end of counterweight rod. Also a brace has been added between the arm mount and the bearing housing. Other changes have been made as well. The end result is a faster, taughter and more defined sounding turntable that sets a new standard at this price. £475.

- Monitor Audio's Gold GX series is now available - or the first compact and floorstander are. Using much technology trickled down from the Platinum series, the GX uses ribbon tweeters for remarkable detail. More to follow.
- Rega Brio R now in stock. This fine amp is half width and represents a whole new approach from British stalwarts Rega. And it sounds superb. Decent phono stage, remote control - jobs a good one! £480. The Brio 3 will stay around for a while longer at £250.
- B&W launch a new compact loudspeaker called the PM1. The speaker is smaller than the 805 but offers superb visuals and performance. Price is £1995 without stand. Sits in price and performance where the old 805 did. NOW ON DEMO!

- Naim Audio's new NDX Network music player is now on demo at Moorgate. We have been using it for about a fortnight and very stable.
- Hallmark of the new Cyrus streamers is the fantastic remote control that comes with them. It is beautiful, easy to use and has a colour OLED screen that shows album artwork etc. Even better news the remote is also programable and communicates to the streamer by wireless so you do not even need the streamer on display!
Moorgate is shocked and saddened to hear about the death of Gary Moore. Gary was a remarkable guitarist and bluesman. From his early days with Skid Row to his tenure in Thin Lizzy, his solo career and his blues days - Gary leaves a legacy of incredible music and performances. His kind are rare and he will be missed. Today we are playing his music!
- Spendor have launched two new loudspeakers. The A3 is a compact floorstander. Esentially a smaller version of the A5 costing £1295. The S3/52R are compacts and basically they are SA1 speakers in non-laquered boxed and costing £850.

- Cyrus are about to launch two new higher end amplifiers. Both of them are mono block designs with one pair replacing the monox and a higher performance pair at £5,000. We heard these yesterday and they sounded extremely fine. We expect our demo pair to arrive towards the end of October.
- In conjunction with B&W Moorgate are promoting The Robin Hoare band when they perform at Sheffields Boarwalk on Thursday the 16th of December. This fine blues band are creating quite a stir and are well worth checking out.
